Yucaipa is a mid-size city at the base of San Bernardino mountains with elevations from 2000' to over 3500'. With a population of 53,000+ it never seems too crowded except maybe during one of their festivals. It has the 10 fwy. running along one side and Hwy 38 along another. You can be at Big Bear Lake or ski resorts in less than 1 hour or drive to the beach area's in a hour. Palm springs is another short drive away. Whisper Ridge is across Wildwood Canyon and built after Whisper Ranch and on even bigger lots with even bigger homes. Many home have great views of the hills and mountains. Many of the homeowners are known for their Halloween decorations. Dunlap area is lower Yucaipa and tends to be smaller older homes, many on large lots. There's a neighborhood elementary school along with the cities high school across the street. The city is finalizing plans for a large park for area residents and is close to shopping and the 10fwy. less
