    My Client Testimonials

"As someone who values communication when it comes to being provided a service, I was impressed with Stephanie's professionalism and initiative when it came to assisting me with my condo. She persistently showed my home and kept me constantly updated throughout the process. I never had to wait, wonder, or reach out myself to find out how showings went or to hear feedback because Stephanie would proactively contact me. Stephanie is the type of realtor who will go the extra mile for her clients. By visiting my building early before starting any showings, she met the staff, learned the layout, and familiarized herself with the amenities and the neighborhood so she could be well informed. She even took it upon herself to clean up some of the scuff marks on my wall without me asking! I really appreciate her hard work and dedication and would gladly work with her again." - Pam S.
"Stephanie did an exceptional job in helping me with the sale of my Davis investment property. Though Davis is only 100 miles from the Peninsula; but with traffic it can be a three hour trek. Having Stephanie be my agent; she took all my headache away from managing this long distance transaction. She is a dedicated professional; incredibly thorough and hardworking in managing all the phases of the sale. Beginning with managing the contractor through the extensive prep work, to conducting many open houses, to coaching with pricing strategy and the managing of negotiation that led to final close with the buyer. Stephanie started as my agent and the buyer appreciate her professionalism and asked her to represent them too. Throughout the negotiation and close, I found Stephanie to be very professional and walk the balance of representing both parties with high integrity. I would recommend without reservation of Stephanie to anyone who is looking for a realtor." - Stella M.
"Selling a house in the Bay Area is easy, right? Just put a "for sale" sign out front, choose the highest offer, and save on your commission -- we 100% thought this before we listed our first house. Well, we were also 100% wrong. We never knew there could be so much going on behind the scenes in the sale of a home -- paperwork, verifications, weekday showings, etc... -- it would have been impossible to have full-time jobs and list our house at the same time, even with weekends free. Luckily, we were introduced to our lovely agent Stephanie Lam (who was probably underpaid given all of the work she did). At our very first meeting, Stephanie was friendly and attentive (she included details about our house in our MLS listing that we didn't even remember telling her), and her engagement only increased from there. She gave us her personal cell phone number, and would always respond to our calls and texts (numbering in the hundreds) no matter the day or time -- we really felt like her only listing (even though she had a few at the time). Once we did accept an offer, Stephanie kindly held our hand while navigating the cavernous paperwork trail -- there are more emails and signatures than one can imagine -- and, as a result, we never once felt overwhelmed or anxious. It was such a relief knowing that we could entrust every detail with her. As an example of how sharp she is -- the title company told us to pay fees related to something, and we said sure, where do I send the check (we had sent countless numbers of checks prior to that, so what was one more)? At which point, Stephanie stepped in and said, "from my records, we did this already," to which the title company, somewhat embarrassingly, later agreed to -- this type of help was INVALUABLE. Having completed the home selling process for the first time, we realized our experience was so simplified by the help and hard work of Stephanie Lam. If we do get back into the real estate game in the future (buying and selling), she'll be the first person we call." - Eimi W.
"Professional, caring, knowledgeable and forever thoughtful, Stephanie has created a NEW benchmark for delivering 5 star, world class customer service! A consummate pro, we are always confident that she will go beyond the expectations of every customer that she represents. For example, after selling her clients' home for top dollar, she accompanied her nervous client out of state to introduce her to the new Buyer's agent!!! WOW!! Stephanie is simply superb!" - Debbie W.
"Stephanie Lam represented us as the selling agent for our home. We interviewed 3 separate agents and chose Stephanie because she has a great deal of experience both buying and selling, and especially because she presented a clear and detailed plan for selling our home. I'm thrilled to say that we were not disappointed by going with Stephanie. She guided us through the difficult and tedious details of preparing the house for the market, scheduling all the behind the scenes work that goes into listing a home such as appraisals, inspections, putting disclosures together. She presented us detailed comps for our property, and walked us through the comparison process, helping us to arrive at a reasonable asking price for our home. Then she showed the property to numerous agents to get good feedback on whether our asking price was reasonable for our neighborhood, type of property, and condition. What I most appreciated was the feeling that she was watching out for our best interest throughout the process. When it came down to negotiating on the price, Stephanie did her ultimate best to get us the price we wanted . Also when we ran into some contingency hiccups, Stephanie did not let us give up and fought hard for us in the most professional way and saved the deal. Stephanie was a pleasure to work with, despite the frustrations I expressed at times, and despite the challenges of a sale based on the contingency of a sale of another home! She was always calm, had a positive attitude, and was really sincere in her aim to make the experience as good as possible, with an outcome that matched our goals. Thank you so much Stephanie, for seeing this through for us and giving us the success we were looking for!! Oh by the way, Stephanie also works with her partner and father, Pedro Choi, who is a veteran in the business for 20 years. We are so lucky to have their professionalism, teamwork and knowledge in the business to make our dreams come true." - Toine H.
"Stephanie was great! I have recommended her to my friends for their real estate needs. She is quick to respond and eager to help even if you are not actively looking for a home. When she broke her foot, she still came out to look at homes with me, even though she was in a cast and on crutches! She has patiently answered all my questions and I can really tell that she has her client's best interest at heart. She isn't just out for that commission check. If you are looking for a pro-active and honest agent, I'd definitely recommend Stephanie. You will not be disappointed! - Jeannette H.
"Stephanie pays attention to details and works diligently and tirelessly! She is professional and understands our needs/requirement! She also takes the initiative to look into details that we hadn't even noticed--for example, she noticed that cell phone reception is not very good at this home when we first visited and she mentioned it to us in case it is of concern to us. In addition, she already started drafting a letter on our behalf to the seller when we expressed our interest in putting together an offer. Now, that's excellent service!!! We would definitely recommend her to all our family/friends!" - Pat L.
"This was our first time buying a home, and Stephanie was referred to us by a good friend. Throughout the whole process, Stephanie kept us updated, provided documents and information in a timely manner. We had specific requests for a first home, and Stephanie was patient with us the whole time. She shows that she cares about our requests and would filter out homes accordingly for us every week until we finally found the one we wanted. The thing that matters to me the most is communication, and she definitely has that attribute. I would recommend Stephanie to anyone who is looking for a new home! Keep up the good work!" - Marion M.
"Stephanie was, and continues to be, great to us. She was very proactive throughout the home-buying process. She showed us properties (we would've been too lazy to look around on our own). She kept in steady contact over what paperwork we needed to fill out. She was very communicative and always available in person, by phone, or by text. Even a month after we moved in, she continues to help us with miscellaneous questions and requests (like a handyman recommendation). If you're new to or intimidated by buying a home, definitely consider Stephanie. She'll make it easy and painless for you, I promise." - Dan H.
"I worked with Stephanie and her team member Pedro. She was very attentive and listened to what our needs were as opposed to just selling us any house. They listened to what are concerns were regarding location and our preferences. Believe it or not during the first time they took us on tour to see what our tastes were, we found our dream home on the FIRST DAY. From then on, Stephanie and Pedro held our hands every step of the way till closing. They still check in on us to see how we are. I look forward to a long working relationship with them." - Alvin O.

How to get your house ready for renters

How to get your house ready for rentersEven if you bought your home to live in rather than as an income property, you may end up renting out your house at some point. A contract opportunity on the other side of the country (or the world), a drop in property values that means you want to build up more equity in your home before trying to sell it, or a formal or informal sabbatical might mean you want to rent rather than sell. Here's how you can get your house ready for renters. How to Get a Better Perspective on Affordability

Headlines spotlight the fact that buying a home is less affordable today than it was at any other time in more than a decade. Those headlines are accurate.Understandably, buying a home is more expensive now than immediately following one of the worst housing crashes in American history. Over the past decade, the market was flooded with distressed properties (foreclosures and short sales) selling at 10-50% discounts. There were so many that this lowered the prices of non-distressed homes in the s...

The Importance of Homeownership to the...

AMERICAN DREAMFor centuries, people in this country have seen homeownership as part of the American Dream. Whether they were born here or immigrated from another country, they wanted to own a piece of America. With so many prominent societal changes over the last few decades, it is fair to ask if people in America still feel the same way about owning a home. The answer was made abundantly clear in two separate reports released earlier this month. In their market trends report, As Housing Tre...
